Why are we asking for this information?

Can we discuss non-agenda items at meetings?

Meeting arrangements differ between charities and the type of meeting that is being held.

You and the other trustees will need to consult your charity’s governing document to determine the procedure for raising, discussing and voting on decisions.

You should also consider whether advance notice must be given of discussion items.

Generally if all in attendance at a quorate meeting agree to introduce a new item of business on the day of the meeting, this would be acceptable even if the governing document states something different.
