Simplification Plan

As part of the cross - government Administrative Burdens Reduction Project (ABRP), the Commission has analysed how it can streamline and reduce the demands of regulation on charities.

Our 2007 Simplification Plan confirms our commitment to reducing the burden of Commission regulation by at least 25% by March 2010. It covers a range of measures that have been taken, including the Charities Act 2006 and also the proposals for changes to financial thresholds in the Charities Act that were published for consultation in December 2007.

We will continue to develop the Plan as more initiatives are identified. If you have any suggestions for reducing the burden on charities please send your ideas by email.
